HUSHED

HUSHED – Jean’s Original Fine Art – Framed – 38″ x 30″ – There is nothing as quiet as the sound of silence after a new-fallen snow.  Birds and animals are still under cover keeping warm and dry.  Old, familiar places become new.  The magic blanket of snow has transformed everything into a pristine fairyland.  Nothing is as we’re used to seeing it, and maybe that’s what makes it so special.  So it was with this road scene we drove every day to and from work when we lived in West Virginia.

HUSHED – Jeans Original Art - Framed - 38" x 30" - There is nothing as quiet as the sound of silence after a new-fallen snow. It is at the upper end of Jake Hill Road in Pendleton County, near the town of Upper Tract, in the West Virginia Potomac Highlands.  This painting in soft pastels has an inner mat of deepest blackish/green, an outer mat of soft light gray, and a heavy contemporary frame mottled with subtle streaks of whitish-silver, mimicking streaks of snow.  There is a very subtle wash of gold tone overall, which picks up the dark ochres in the closer tree trunks.
