THE NAKED TREE – Framed dimensions: 27″ H x 34-3/4″ W. In October of 2007, on our very first date, my now-husband Jim took me to Skyline Drive. He was very familiar with the Drive; I was not. He thought I would like this spot and this tree. The tree was completely devoid of any bark. It must have stood there for a very long time to be so smooth and sensuous. I loved it, and took many photos of it. I painted it and called it The Naked Tree because it was so unclothed looking, almost like bare skin. We went back many times over the next few years and always searched out how the tree was doing, i.e., if it was still there. Alas, in the fall of 2013, when we looked for it, after not having been up there since the summer, it was gone, an apparent victim of some storm. I will always miss this beautiful, naked tree. Framed in a tailored silver frame w/ inner edge beading, with deep smoky blue suede mat and beaded silver filet. $2497.00
